For the construction of major projects, like the Baixo Iguaçu Hydroelectric Power Plant in Paraná, certain components are essential, such as pillar cranes and tower cranes. “This helps us assist production during cargo movements and boost our productivity," explained Hamilton Júnior, responsible for Equipment.
One of these cranes, currently at the Construtora Norberto Odebrecht construction site, stands out for its enormous cargo capacity. It is the Liebherr 1250 HC 50, which can hoist parts weighing up to 50 t. Made in Germany and acquired by Odebrecht, the crane is the largest one operating in Brazil and is now at its second project. It was brought from the Teles Pires Hydroelectric Power Plant in Mato Grosso by 26 trailers, and on September 19, it hoisted its first gate panel at Baixo Iguaçu. “Eight cranes are operating here," said Hamilton Júnior. "All of them are owned by Odebrecht and came from different places in the country," he added.
There are approximately 70 professionals working directly with this equipment. “Our team includes excellent professionals, with experience from other projects," said a Alcides Barbosa, General Equipment Supervisor with over 30 years of experience at Odebrecht and a specialist in cranes. "Despite this, we constantly monitor each member to guarantee everyone's safety," he said.
