The year got off to a busy start for 43 students from various cities across Brazil who began their Summer Internships in the Young Partner Program of Odebrecht. The young professionals will work during all of January on one of the company’s projects in the country and will have an opportunity to put into practice the knowledge they acquired in the classroom.

The story of these youth at Odebrecht began in August 2016, in a recruiting process that registered 46,000 applications for the summer internship openings in the Young Partner Program. The recruiting process involved five phases, all digital, and was open to college students nationwide. Three Odebrecht companies participated: Construtora Norberto Odebrecht, Odebrecht TransPort and Odebrecht Ambiental.

Of those selected, most were from 22 to 24 years of age: 49%. The breakdown by gender was nearly the same: 44% women and 56% men. By region, the Southeast was home to a majority (60%) of the students selected.

The internships last through the end of January and applications for the winter internship in July will begin to be accepted in the first quarter of 2017. The program demonstrates how valuing youth who dedicate their vacation time to self-development and sharing experiences and interacting with the Group’s leaders also contributes to Odebrecht's growth.
