The generation arriving to the job market grew up in an environment marked by major technological advances, strong digital communication and driven by values such as sustainable development and professional recognition. Their choices naturally reflect this context. In this sense, the indicators from the Odebrecht Group Young Partner Program reveal a company aligned with what the youth of 2016 want.
In September, the program reached the historical milestone of 65,564 candidates. There were 46,827 registered for the Vacation Internship and 18,737 for the Regular Internship – 53% more interested applicants than the previous edition. Job openings will be offered for the two categories, with contracting scheduled for January 2017 at different Businesses.
"Our commitment to training youth is continuous and genuine," explained Carla Barretto, responsible for Planning and People at Odebrecht S.A., and for whom these numbers have a special meaning considering the company's current phase. "In alignment with our Entrepreneurial Culture, we are providing concrete opportunities for the development of these professionals' careers, always with a long term vision," she said. "This recognition only reinforces our belief in the importance of constantly developing a new generation of leaders," she added.
Door of Entry
"The Young Partner Program is considered the most efficient door of entry for professionals starting out their career at the Odebrecht Group," said Belini. By participating, the university students have the opportunity to develop their skills at a global company, present in 28 countries. Whether during the vacation period or for an entire year, the students complement their theoretical learning with practical activities, always with the support of a leader.
Diego Belini joined Odebrecht as a Young Partner in January 2015 and remembers how the opportunity accelerated his professional development. “Without any doubt, the company offers experiences that you will rarely see at other organizations, whether due to the construction methods, use of new technologies or responsibilities assumed," said Belini.
For Silvana Sacramento, responsible for the Vacation Internship Program at Construtora Norberto Odebrecht, the expressive number of interested students is a source of pride, and at the same time, alerts toward the responsibility of filling this demand. "Meeting the expectations of thousands of youth is a unique challenge for us, we carry the training and development of people in our DNA," said Sacramento.
