The Odebrecht executive’s and former executives’ defense attorneys will make statements before the court. However, it is noteworthy that this new charge from the Public Prosecutor’s Office was brought and allowed by the Federal Court just hours after the Federal Supreme Court had granted habeas corpus to one of the company’s former executives, without any new facts having been presented concerning the previous charge. Regarding the order for further preventive detention, it is strange that the decision should be made when no new facts have been brought in the case, instead insisting on points that have already been decided by the Brazilian Supreme Court.
