On the 18th. a stretch of Caracas' subway, between Capuchinos-Plaza Venezuela opened as part of the construction services Construtora Norberto Odebrecht is carrying out for Caracas Metro's Line 4 in Venezuela. President of Venezuela Hugo Chávez attended the inaugural ceremony. The 5.9-kilometer long stretch was eventually completed after six years and comprises four stations (Zona Rental, Parque Central, Nuevo Circo and Teatros) and the rehabilitation of the Capuchinos station. It consists also of assorted subway innovations such as special lane for visual impaired passengers and elevators for people with movement difficulties. Besides that, Odebrecht produced a differentiated architectonic concept for the stations and outside areas in order to ease circulation of people and vehicles around and nearby the constructed area.
